Step 5 from: http://wiki.freebsd.org/RootOnZFS/GPTZFSBoot/Mirror

All you need is some bootable media with the latest gptzfsloader --
either 8.1-RELEASE or a recent 8.1-STABLE or 9-CURRENT snapshot.
