Try removing and recreating your ~/.phoenix directory (or just move it elsewhere and copy out the bookmarks if you want to keep them). mozilla^Wphoenix^Wfirebird^Wfirefox has broken compatibility of this directory a number of times, so you will run into weird problems if you have an old enough installation.
