Dig works just fine as well... } Anyone have any ideas as to what might be wrong here? Yes. There is a /etc/host.conf in both FreeBSD an Linux, but the contents differs ... For now just put an RESOLV_HOST_CONF=/compat/linux/etc/host.conf; export RESOLV_HOST_CONF in your /etc/profile. Then create a file "/compat/linux/etc/host.conf" containing the following single line: order bind,hosts make sure that the RESOLV_HOST_CONF environment variable is set when starting any Linux binary ...
