ZDnet already addressed this in a recent story. The sentence was something like: Who needs all these H1-Bs, when there are open source programmers ? There's tons of custom programming going around - but how much of it is released under GPL ? Most fortune 500 companies (where the wealth is), will not consciously employ programmers to write GPL'ed code. Also, if you look at the silicon valley, it basically lives on the promise of making "inappropriate amounts of money" some day.
