No. I can't make the drive work with mine on my DELL Latitude XPi 90ST
either.

And it's  worse with the two  patches, it does not  even recognize the
card then.

I don't know how similar or how different they are, but why not have a
look at the Linux driver which works flawlessly with this card?
(file /usr/src/linux/drivers/net/pcmcia/xirc2ps_cs.c)


Sorry, I don't have more time to learn and debug the FreeBSD xe driver...
