I have SYS* in the kernel yes. I use Interbase 4.2 on an important project for which I go live next wednesday. Luckily I did not update de server at the client. What happened? I installed PostgreSQL and its daemon postmaster was running when I tried to invoke Interbase. Marcel found the problem: I just had to increate the number of semaphores. This is defined in usr/src/sys/sys/sem.h. I had to change the line from: #define SEMMNS 60 /* # of semaphores in system */ to 120. Now both PostgreSQL and Interbase run on the same system.
