This is looking more and more like a bug in the new map_split code
(more precisely, looks like some cases not properly handled.)
(The new code mitigates the negative effects of object based memory
containers, while not taking on the disadvantages of SVR4 type
approaches. This keeps the "chunk" based approach, while not needing
to normally deal with pages all of the time.)
