At any rate you should upgrade your sendmail to : the latest version (ftp.berkeley.edu:/ucb/sendmail???). I think this : week's release is 8.7.6 (ho ho ho).. What are the main differences between 8.6.12 and 8.7.6 ? : > maybe in conjunction with the "DMsome.domain" masquerading feature? : : The user database will probably do what you want, in conjunction with the : masquerading feature. You should definitely get the ORA Sendmail book. : It is 800 pages packed with info and makes a WONDERFUL reference for all : thos cryptic Config codes. The latest release include a bunch of m4 : macros for "easing" the configuration process, but the book is still : required material. I'm doing the same thing with the user database (wich is included in the version shipped with 2.1). The From: Header is relplaced like expected, but i still don't use masquarading. Why do you suggest to use it ? Maybe i miss something. Only one problem is left: If i send local mail, the From: Header is replaced also. This causes problems with local replys. They always have to go via the POP server. Is there any way to avoid this ? If i am right, the user database replaces the From: Header _before_ the rulesets apply.
