Humm, see the '-CURRENT boot1 broken?' thread in -alpha from a week or so ago. 
Christan "naddy" <can't remember last name> noted that either boot1 or perhaps
the loader blew up when he reinstalled current with 16384/2048.  Reformatting
the disk as 8192/1024 fixed his problem.

He got a kernel stack not valid halt into SRM after the 'Loading /boot/loader'
line.
