     Quite possible -- but he's not using the XFree86 4.1.0 "ati"
driver.  He's probably using one of the other ATI drivers that support
XVideo.

[ Or, if he is, it's a newer version than the one distributed with
  4.1.0.  There is a newer ati driver available for linux, but I don't
  know if it supports XVideo.  It appears to be linux-specific, and so I
  didn't look very hard at it.  ]
