Should my modules be getting trashed when I > upgrade Perl assuming I let them install into the default area of > /usr/local/lib/perl5...... ? I got bitten by this once. Of course, the next time portupgrade told me that there was a new update to perl, I carefully generated a list of all the perl dependent packages I had installed so I could reinstall them after updating perl. Except that this time round, updating the perl port didn't trash all my extra perl modules. The exceptions were stuff like the CPAN or CGI modules that both come with core perl and have more up to date versions in ports. I'm not sure how this affects BSDPAN- modules, because I don't have any... Running: pkg_info -g p5-\* perl-\* will go a long way towards confirming the integrity of whatever perl stuff you have installed.
