Check /etc/gettytab, look for the 'default:\' line...

Mine says: ":cb:ce:ck:lc:fd#1000:im=\r\n%s/%m (%h) (%t)\r\n\r\n:sp#1200:" -
that's the line that sets what's displayed on Telnets...

I quite often strip out the bits myself, but there again - obscurity is no
security...
