Hi! I'm trying to make FreeBSD 4.6.2 to use internal modem on Toshiba Tecra 8000 - with no success yet. I'm not sure that this modem is supported with ltmdm-1.4 (from ports). However, this modem is working under W2K. BIOS settings: I/O ports Serial = COM1 (3F8H/IRQ4) Built-it Modem = COM2 (2F8H/IRQ3) Here's what I can get about it from W2K: Toshiba Internal V.90 Modem Location: on Intel 82371AB/EB PCI to ISA bridge Driver: ltmdmntt.sys (Provider: LT) modem.sys Resources settings: Input/Output Range: 02F8-02FF 1C80-1CFF 1C00-1C7F Interrupt Request: 03 Hardware ID: ACPI\TOS7011 I've also noticed that W2K sees it like COM3 in its terminology; don't know if it does mean anything. When I'm trying to connect to the modem under FreeBSD cu -l /dev/cual0 it says "Device not configured" But it exists: ll /dev/cual* crw-rw---- 1 uucp dialer 228, 128 Sep 29 16:17 /dev/cual0 crw-rw---- 1 uucp dialer 228, 128 Sep 28 09:36 /dev/cual1 crw-rw---- 1 uucp dialer 228, 192 Sep 29 16:17 /dev/cuall0 crw-rw---- 1 uucp dialer 228, 192 Sep 28 09:36 /dev/cuall1 Here all the information regarding this: dmesg output: Copyright (c) 1992-2002 The FreeBSD Project. Can anyone tell me - have I any chance to make it work? Thank you in advance. -- Igor A.
