Nail on the head!

All is working (mp3, h264, theora, webm)-

$ pkg info | grep gstreamer
gstreamer1-1.2.3 Media applications framework
gstreamer1-libav-1.2.2_1 GStreamer plug-in for manipulating MPEG video
streams
gstreamer1-plugins-1.2.3 GStreamer written collection of plugins
handling several media types
gstreamer1-plugins-good-1.2.3 Good gstreamer-plugins
gstreamer1-vaapi-0.5.7 GStreamer hardware video decoding via VA-API
plug-in

Big thanks! (vaapi is my addition here, don't know if I actually gain
anything,
but vao_demo / vainfo works)
