Both client and AP are FreeBSD 4.9, using the same Netgear MA401 prism-based wireless card with the same firmware rev. The Base station is set to HostAP mode. The same client hardware, when booted in XP, associates without difficulty in either SHARED or OPEN authmode. Any comments? Suggestions on gathering more detail for diagnosis? Can you reproduce this? Cheers, Michael
