So that > is the cause I suppose. I get the same w/ my multi-card USB reader which prints out 4x the messages for each flash type: MMC/SD, SmartMedia, Memory Stick, CompactFlash. It's normal to see that as it emulates SCSI, so cam tries to query the devices at boot and finds no media.
