Thinkpad T20 FreeBSD 4.2 Release I wondering if there was any follow-up on the matter with the pcm driver for the Thinkpad T20s. As typically reported by others: /src/i386/conf/mykernel . . . . . options PNPBIOS device pcm . . . . . . . .. < the rest is omitted > Report from dmesg: ... pci0: <unknown card> (vendor=0x115d, dev=0x000c) at 3.1 irq 11 csa0: <Crystal Semiconductor CS4614/4622/4624 Audio accelerator/4280 Audio controller> mem 0xe8000000-0xe80fffff,0xe8122000-0xe8122fff irq 11 at device 5.0 on pci0 pcm0: <CS461x PCM Audio> on csa0 ... cat /dev/sndstat: FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm) Feb 7 2001 22:00:05 Installed devices: pcm0: <CS461x PCM Audio> at irq 11 (1p/1r channels duplex) One primary difference is that I use the play command, say: play /usr/local/share/sounds/ktalkd.wav Output: /dev/dsp; not configured. KDE, my favorite desktop comes up witn OSS errors when I use the control panel to test the startup.wav file. Any progress?
