Thanks for this key combo.  
Hmmmm....don't recall seeing the ALT-F2 option doc'd anywhere in the
install docs I read;  or the fact that on a comm error [crc errors during ftp,
in my case] a 3-finger-salute will allow restart of the ftp at point of
failure.
I like this, but wish it had been more obvious in the general html docs,
manual, or FAQ. [or did I brain-lock, and look right past this info??].
I'd swear I read and searched the FreeBSD site every-which-way.  :<(

The above led me to fix my freeze-up problem.  But does not answer
the question of why the Novice option kept kicking to the main menu.
I suspect I may be able to go back an see what happened there
once the install completes successfully.
