Just for the record,this problem began for me when i upgraded from
11.2-RELEASE-p2 to 11.2-RELEASE-p4, and then rebuilt and reinstalled all of=
 the
ports i use.

X.Org X Server 1.18.4
Radeon HD 5470

I used the fix described by Christian Weisgerber to get X working again. (D=
anke
schoen!)  For me this meant:

  pkg install graphics/drm-kmod

Change /etc/rc.conf:

old line: kld_list=3D"radeonkms"

new line: kld_list=3D"/boot/modules/radeonkms.ko"
