Perhaps, but it would change the meaning of 'WITHOUT_X11=yes' quite a bit, so I do not think it would be suitable to commit to the ports tree as-is (and I hope nobody had planned on doing that.) (At the moment 'WITHOUT_X11=yes' means that those ports which have optional support for X11 should be built without it.
