Subject: Buslogic 545c Timeout During Install

I am getting timeout errors from the SCSI controller (I think) when I try
to install 2.0R. Here is my configuration:

Clone 486 DX/2 66
Buslogic 545C SCSI Controller
Quantum Lightning 540S
Sony CDU-55S CD-ROM
Western Digital 340MB drive (not used for FreeBSD, however)

In fact what is happening is that the cdrom, and the scsi disk timeout. Here
is some of the error messages, from what I could write down:

cd0 (aha0:3:0): timed out
sd0 (aha0:0:0): timed out

... Repeated several times and then

sd0(aha0:0:0): timed out
adapter not taking commands: frozen ?!
Debugger ("aha1542") called

aha0: MB0 not free

When I first tried to boot FreeBSD I had to change the place where it seeked
the SCSI controller from 0x330 to 0x334 (where mine is installed). I figured
that is must be using aha0, as opposed to aha1, or aha2. Is this correct?
I went into the SCSI configuration and disabled to Fast Transfer mode for
the cd-rom and hard drive. But it didn't help. The Transfer Rate is set for the
lowest selectable at 5MB/s.

This problem happens when I first try to install the bindist from the CD-ROM.

Please someone help, I would sure appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,
