I wish people would stop giving this kind of advice. :)

It is often not sufficient to just upgrade the .mk files, that's why
we go through the trouble of creating the upgrade kits.  The right
answer (and the only one) is:

"Please go to http://www.freebsd.org/ports/ and install the
 appropriate upgrade kit"
