Greg, Thank you for looking at the experimental port of eclipse-3.3. It is a platform specific launcher source file, and it is supposed to be created for specific platform by build.xml, but I could not find such description and manually created from given source files. In future, we hope that we can eliminate such large binary from distribution by tweaking build.xml. Yes, I agree that launchersrc.zip living in DISTFILE for a time being. Thank you for your effort.
