I can enable "workspace name" in Workspace_Switcher Preferences and the next Gnome2-2.4.0 session will display it. HowEVER, changing the number of workspaces does NOT get saved, apparently, and every Gnome2-2.4.0 session starts up with only ONE workspace in the Workspace_Switcher. Removing Workspace_Switcher from the Panel and adding it back to the Panel makes no difference in selecting multiple workspaces between Gnome sessions.
