Lee, don't you read manpages? :-) man getty and gettytab. Look for "pp". The "pp=" capability should point to a program (NOT pppd!) which handles ppp logins. Once this program gets control, then it assembles the command line to ppp or pppd, almost always including "auth" and "login", which does the protocol negotiation, login and so on. There's a kit assembled by Daniel O'Callaghan <danny@panda.hilink.com.au> which will give you a good head start in setting this up. Email him for more information.
