You are definetely missing your aout libs for Xfree86.
I had this exact same problem.  You should have
/usr/X11R6/lib/aout/ directory full of libraries.  
I did not know that when fixing this problem that
recompiling Xfree86 would install the aout libs  If this 
is the case the recompile Xfree86 or copy the libs from
another FreeBSD box.
