Hello,

I just installed FreeBSD on my Compaq Presario (7000 series) PC, after the
CD installation, I made FreeBSD to boot but, after checking and probing all
the hardware it will stop with a fatal trap. Note that I haven't done
anything to the kernel (it's the default installation kernel). This are some
of the last lines printed to the console:

    lpt0: <Printer> on ppbus0
    lpt0: Interrupt -driven port
    ppi0: <Parallel I/O> on ppbus0

Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode
    fault virtual addres = 0x1
fault code = supervisor read, page not present

... IP, SP, CS information ...

    current process = 0 (swapper)

And then it will print a message that it will automatically reboot. If you
can help me, I can give you more information about the trap or how I have
configured the system (I'm dual-booting with Windows 2000)

Best regards,
Carlos A. Carnero Delgado

PS. I have extensive Linux experience, so you can send me some "advanced"
hacking instructions or whatever. Sort of.
