Cc: demo15@wln.com Sender: questions-owner@FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk I can't seem to boot up my Dec 3 gig drive. I am using a adaptec 1540 controller and i have a 840 meg IDE drive hooked up. When i try and boot it it works fine until it get's to "changing root device to sd0a" then it just sit's there.. I installed using sysinstall on my ide and copying over all the files needed. At this point i can't make a new install disk because i am using a 2.88 drive and FreeBSD doesnt seem to work with it. I have no problem using the SCSI drive as a second drive.. But i am getting rid of my 850 IDE and would like to use the 3 gig DEC as my primary drive..I think my controller is adaptec 1540s or something like that. I dont have the manual for it .. Is it possible it's a problem with the jumpers?. Please email me at demo15@wln.com ASAP thanks.
