Which "search function" are you referring to? They show up find when I
use `locate':

ben@scientia:~$ locate fopen
[... snip ...]
/usr/src/lib/libc/stdio/fopen.c

ben@scientia:~$ locate stdio.h
[... snip ...]
/usr/src/include/stdio.h
