sorry to followup to my own message. In message <200011071737.eA7HbcG11221@billy-club.village.org> Warner Losh writes: : make world is safe to use when you know that the binaries are 100% : compatible with the old kernel. It is also safe as long as the old kernel can run the binaries and there are no gotchas lurking (like say a mount or mountd that takes out the kernel when started). The reason that I document things the way I do is for maximum safety. It will always work, or it is a bad bug that must be fixed asap. Like I say in updating, often times you can get away with a lot of things and be safe. Warner To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe cvs-all" in the body of the message
