Thank you, Jan!  I had not forgot, but was running some further tests 
over night for lang/gcc5 since I wanted to combine that little change 
with another one to account for the loss of gets() in FreeBSD 12 which,
with lang/gcc5 still necessary to build later ports on powerpc64, seems
important.

Happy to see that had I simply missed that, it would have been caught! :-)
