XFree86 just needs to be unpacked into the correct directories.

Create the directory /usr/X11R6
cd to /usr/X11R6
sh /tmp/preinst.sh
zcat X32xxx.tgz | tar xvf -

You will have already copied preinst.sh and postinst.sh to your
/tmp directory because you read the RELNOTES file that comes with
the distribution :)  Only half joking here, you will have a tough
time getting X running if you do not read the docs.
