Here is my /etc/ntp.conf:

#ntp configuration file for gdi.uoregon.edu
server phloem.uoregon.edu
statsdir /var/log/
statistics loopstats

Then edit the 'xntpdflags' directive in /etc/sysconfig to read:

xntpdflags="-c /etc/ntp.conf"

Reboot and you're off and rolling.
