Sorry for missing this for so long, I just remembered there is a diagram
in my old PCTools manuals.

This is in no particular order...

5  2  3  7  8  6  1  4
|    X    X    +--+ /
               +--+ \
5  2  3  7  8  6  1  4

The last bit is  that pins 1 and 6 and 4 on the other end are wired
together.

Definitions:

5 Ground
2 Receive Data
3 Send Data
7 RTS
8 CTS
6 DSR
1 DCD / Carrier
4 DTR
