Some things have gratuitous differences for internal timestamps and
temporary file names.  I have fixed some of these problems but there
are still a lot.  It's probably good enough to build and install using
the two methods and run "diff -r | grep -v '^Binary files.*differ' on
the obj and DESTDIR trees.
