 Hi All,
Just installed an ATAPI CD-RW as the second CD drive on my computer
running FreeBSD 4.3-STABLE. The installation was cool, the drive was
readily recognized as /dev/wcd1, and all I had to do was adding a new
device in /dev/. I could read CDs as well without any problem. However,
 when
I tried to write with burncd, it came up with the ioctl problem. The
 related dmesg is as followed:

 FreeBSD 4.3-STABLE #0: Wed Jun 6 06:31:05 JST 2001
wdc0: unit 1 (atapi): <MATSHITA CR-583/1.06>, removable, accel, dma, iordis
 wcd0: drive speed 1378KB/sec, 128KB cache
 wcd0: supported read types: CD-R, CD-DA
wcd0: Audio: play, 256 volume levels
 wcd0: Mechanism: ejectable tray
wcd0: Medium: no/blank disc inside, unlocked
 wdc0: unit 3 (atapi): <SONY CD-RW CRX140E/1.0s>, removable, accel, dma, iordis
 wcd1: drive speed 5512KB/sec, 4096KB cache
 wcd1: supported read types: CD-R, CD-RW, CD-DA, packet track
wcd1: supported write types: CD-R, CD-RW, test write
wcd1: Audio: play, 256 volume levels
 wcd1: Mechanism: ejectable tray
wcd1: Medium: no/blank disc inside, unlocked
wdc0: driver is using old-style compatability shims

And when I fire up burncd, I always get the following result:

 # burncd -f /dev/wcd1c -s 2 -m data image.iso
burncd: ioctl (CDRIOCWRITESPEED): Inapproriate ioctl for device

I have searched the archives of this mailing list and found some
e-mail with similar problem but no definite way out.
Could somebody help me how to overcome this problem?

 TIA,
