yes, at least two things: you didn't mention which FreeBSD version
you're running, nor did you provide a dmesg.

Supported by bge since June 2006 in HEAD and August 2006 in RELENG_6
(including 6.2-RELEASE)

'kldload if_bge' would have sufficed.
