Well, that depends on what "SoundBlaster compatible" means. If it's a newer SB, the CD is (most likely) ATAPI/IDE and you need to follow the ATAPI install instructions. Otherwise, it may be a matcd0-compatible interface....I can't tell with the info you've given.
