I don't know about you, but I have access to embedded systems that only have K&R compilers available. I also have access to many older systems (like BTOS, CTOS, C-64, and old Altos and 8086 SCO systems) that simply can't support GCC on a bet. I know, I know: I'm "supposed to" deal with the bastardized GCC cross compilation environments and then contribute the code back under GPL. No thank you. 8-(.
