The OSVERSION checks I added should prevent any problems on releases without the strftime changes moving forward. Plus, the package would still be usable. It's just dates for CJK locales would look corrupt in gdm and the clock applet. Also, GNOME users that need current 5.3-RELEASE packages should use my Tinderbox.
