The download site for FreeBSD is
http://www.opera.com/browser/download/?os=freebsd-i386&list=all

It shows the following entry
FreeBSD 7.x (static)           7 MB

But when the file is downloaded, it is "shared" version.
opera-9.63-freebsd7-shared-qt3.i386.tar.bz2

Thus static opera binary is not available :(
