I've been using that for a while & don't have much trouble with it ... can
only think of three areas that have caused me much aggro.

Is your ppplogin file world executable ??

What O/S are you trying to login with ?? ... Windows won't connect
automatically with the regular getty, you must either "bring up a terminal
window after dialling" or write a login script.

Are both ends using public range IPs or is NAT involved ?? I've rarely had
problems with public range IPs but almost always had trouble using NAT over
a dialup link, particularly when there are two or more dialup links in
series.
