Hi: I want to dump my entire OS (apps, files, everything) to another file on the same drive. What are the steps neessary to do this (once off). I believe I may have to boot in single user mode and unmount my filesystem. I just need someone to broadly outline the steps necessary. Also can you provide an example of how to use dump to dump to a file on the same drive (assuming there is enough room on the drive). Would be helpful to know how to tell how much available space there is remaining on a drive.
