I am using protonmail since about 1 year and I found it very good:

https://protonmail.com/

It is focused on security and privacy. They use easy end-to-end encryption
when possible, i.e. from a protonmail account to a protonmail account, and
zero access encryption (that means that they cannot read your mails even
if they want to; of course this is true only once the encryption has been d=
one:
if you receive a non encrypted mail, for example from a gmail account, then=
, in
theory, they would be able to read it, and indeed it passes through the spa=
m
filter, but after the spam filter it is encrypted and unreadable to anyone =
except
you).

The free account is very restriced (only 3 folders and 3 labels), but if it=
 is enough
for you you might be happy with it. Paied accounts are not expensive and th=
ey will
probably make a discount soon for black friday or cyber monday.

Keep in mind that it is still in construction
and they do not have FreeBSD in mind (they are not working on any easy way
to download your mail on your computer; they are working on it for linux ho=
wever
and it might work for FreeBSD too, maybe after a little work; for the momen=
t
you can only use the web interface).
