if you buy a sony mavica you dont need any of that sort of
stuff, the sony puts jpeg (and or gif, i think) images ont a
1.44 mb floppy diskette.

this is about the sanest solution in a market that is yet to
settle, some of the good cameras have custom built software for
ms windows and unix .. but these camera start at some 45k
(thats fourtyfive thousand australian dollars) and have got
very good after sales support. of those the pentax 6x7 fromat
aith the canon ccd element is about the best, aslo one of the
cheapest.

i keep up with the photo (digital or normal 35 mm and 6x7
format) scene, i used to be a passable photographer before i
became a near bed ridden complainer, er freebsd user.

i've got some comparisions on paper, i need to borrow a scaner
and get permission to copy the data, would yo be interested in
a email detailing the results. also thier is a japanesse
website that (might be in teh freebsd.org's webpage listing, i
think) here is a good list of whats available (in japan most of
teh home market is also exported) and has details of the lenses
type of dounload and all teh other important stuff, fromat of
'film media' file types and average sizes.

regards

jonathan

sorry fro bit confused, i'm a bit confused at the moment, new
dr new medicines .. sort of thing.
