Last I head, the general consensus was that they had their wires totally
crossed, and that phk was working with them to sort the matter out.

I haven't heard anything since, but Lasermoon have released a new Motif
distribution for FreeBSD 2.1 a little while back, which you may want to
look at instead.  Check the archive for the 'announce' mailing list.
