Hi freebsd-questions:-) i am trying to install freeBSD 4.6 for the first =
time. after completing the installation and rebooting the computer the =
following message appears and the computer hangs.

F1    FreeBSD
Default: F1
-

hitting F1 or enter does not start the loading process.
what could be the cause of the problem?

it is not a dualboot, but i have tried using both the boot mgr and =
standard MBR with the same effect. i have also tried installing the =
whole distribution and a minimal distribution also with no change.=20
