I remember yet one reason why 'contrib' is better then 'usr.bin'
In contrib you keep original GNU Makefile which is overwritten in usr.bin
version. Moreover, in case you want to re-configure something (f.e. when
system changed), in usr.bin variant you risk to overwrite config.h
but not in contrib variant. GNU sources in contrib not mixed
with FreeBSD sources in usr.bin, which is more convinient. I think moving
pre-existen history to contib is not a big deal.
