You might also want to take a look at the "openRTSP" client application: 
<http://www.live.com/openRTSP/>.   Also, the test programs bundled with the 
"LIVE.COM Streaming Media" libraries <http://live.sourceforge.net/>; include 
programs that both send and receive MPEG audio and video.
