However, this might change in the future, as far as Linux is concerned: http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/980529/uniforum_a_2.html That article essentially says that there are efforts -- supported by The Open Group -- to get Linux the "UNIX98" brand. >From a technical point of view, I'd say that FreeBSD is certainly more "unixish" than Linux, given the fact that it is derived from 4.4BSD, while Linux is basically a complete rewrite (and besides: it is GNU, and "GNU's Not UNIX" ;-). Needless to say, I'm worried that one day Linux can be legally called a UNIX system, while FreeBSD (still) cannot.
